Style Linking

How Bold and Italic keyboard shortcuts work.

The RIBBI Model

Traditional style linking works in groups of four: Regular, Italic, Bold, Bold Italic. The fsSelection bits in OS/2 define which style is which.

Limitations

Only four styles can be linked. Light, Medium, SemiBold, Black, and other weights cannot be accessed via keyboard shortcuts—they must be selected from the font menu.
